In Classical Portraiture, students begin by making a pencil sketch of the model's head with special attention to the head's anatomical structure over . After mastering the pencil sketch, they will progress to creating a tonal study of the model's head with either charcoal or oil paint. 

Students are encouraged to enroll in a Classical Drawing course before or while attending a portraiture or figure class.

Summer Workshops

Raz Seri coaches students in the art of Classical Portraiture in two weekend workshops at the Boulder School of Fine Art. The workshops meet from 10-4 on Friday - Sunday. Students who sign up for both workshops enjoy a discount.
